This is an image I drew a few years ago, (probably at least 5.5 years!) when I found out about the fact that male chicks at many hatcheries are ground up alive or suffocated in garbage bags, as they don't lay eggs and therefore aren't 'useful' to the company.

Sometimes I feel a bit helpless as an animal rights advocate. We're all doing our part in our own way - being vegan (the #1 way to make a difference in the suffering of animals) or writing letters, or educating others. Sometimes I wish I could just help the animals stand up for themselves in the moment. This image is a metaphorical statement on that subject.
