The purple-hued planet of Mu is covered in one single ocean, with a highly complex and unique ecosystem built upon its unusual chemistries. As such, it is practically useless for colonization or farming, and thus remains virtually untouched despite being within the the Core Worlds. There are no comnets and only one sea-battered spaceport, and the brave few who go to Mu are generally expected to stay for life. Living there is difficult to say the least -- one must first undergo extensive biogenic therapy just to adapt to the alien biosphere, and even then, something is always chasing you. Very often, it's something big and toothy. But as Shiuk would tell you, that's just part of the fun. It keeps you on your toes -- er, fins.
