One of the Corporation's most notorious rising stars is Socks, a chipper young vixen who demonstrated an uncanny knack for AI cultivation all the way back to childhood. She was a key driving force in many of the early AI projects that put the Corporation on the map, including INVERS, Tiamat, and the Replite and Zoomer series. (Don't ask her about the Replite Uprising; it's a sore point.) The Corporation's enemies think she may be a potential weak point, because at first glance Socks seems to possess a certain naïvete -- her cheerful demeanor would suggest she doesn't entirely understand what her research is being used for. What they don't realize is that Socks is hardly as naïve or innocent as she seems to be. In fact, her skill with AIs makes one almost wonder if she IS one...or perhaps something new entirely...
