Commentary:
SEA MONSTER! After slightly alluding to one's existance in chapters 2 and 12, it's finally here! I doubt anyone will remember those times it was brought up, but here it is.

Figured I'd bring up monster territories being a thing. Pretty much why you don't see monsters all the time in the comic. Looks like this one went astray however, like the one Lubo claimed to have seen at the beach. There's a reason for this, but won't be explained until... Volume 3.

I was dreading drawing this monster since I didn't hav a design fleshed out. But now that this page is finally here, I'm feeling pretty good about it. I was also worried about the entire page since I'd be drawing every character on scene AND would have to draw the ship. Once I realized I'd have to scale down the monster's size for this fight scene to work better, I ended up having to draw significantly less of the ship in the background of panel 7.

The monster is holding a squid and a shark to allude to what it's currently been up to. I figured it would make sense since a shark and squid suddenly showed up within a few pages of eachother. I gave the squid and shark distinct colors so no one confuses them with the shark and squid that the fishing crew just recently caught.

Also I apologize if anyone was anticipating a pirate fight instead. Maybe next time.
