Octransfur Day 30: Toy Rat Trap [Rubber Rat TF, Sticky] by Joat

The young man stared down at the new toy he’d just received as a gift. It was... certainly an odd thing, a toy he hadn’t even realized existed. It was a toy rat glue trap, which his roommate had left on the coffee table for him.

When he picked the toy up though, he discovered something quite odd about it. Despite clearly looking fake, the surface of the glue trap was indeed quite squishy, like one would expect from a a real glue trap. But more alarmingly, the thumb that had landed in it was starting to turn to pink and shiny rubber, with a cute little fake-looking claw.

Alarmed, he tried pulling his thumb off the surface of the toy, but though the theoretically-fake glue stretched, it kept his thumb trapped in place. Then, as if it were waiting for him to try escaping, the transformation suddenly started quickly spreading, his hand becoming a rubber rat forepaw and his forearm becoming smooth and gray, His clothes vanished and he began rapidly shrinking down, to the point where he was smaller than the toy trap. As small, in fact, as the very rats that a glue trap was supposed to catch!

Tendrils of glue started to form on the surface of the glue trap, forcing his transformed arm into the glue trap, along with the rest of his new rat forepaw. He gave a squeak of surprise unlike any sound he’d made before, as he saw his mouth and nose press forward into a smooth, shiny gray muzzle with pink nose. He could feel the rest of his head changing, his hair vanishing and his ears moving to the top of his head and reshaping into cute rat ears, before glue tendrils reached out to force his head into the glue trap as well.

He tried to open his muzzle to call for help, but could only give a loud “Mmph!” as he muzzle was stuck shut by the glue. Even if he had been able to speak, though, he was home alone, and at his size he wasn’t able to make much noise. He tried to lift up his muzzle, feeling the gue stretch a bit under his muzzle before forcing it back into place, soon followed by tendrils forcing his newly transformed other forepaw and foreleg down onto the glue surface.

He then felt something long and thin forming from behind him - a cute rat tail. In fact, the area that the tail was attached to felt different too, and indeed his entire torso felt different. It felt more simplified and more of a rounded build, and he noticed he no longer needed to breathe. Indeed, it seemed that part too had been converted to gray rubber, a feeling that was confirmed when it was forced down into the glue trap by tendrils.

He then felt his legs changing. His head was stuck, so he couldn’t look back and check, but he was reasonably certain they were turning to gray rubber, just like his forelegs. Then, he felt his feet changing, turning to squeaky rat hind paws, before finally he felt the glue tendrils reach out and grab his legs, hind paws, and tail, forcing them down onto the glue trap.

The glue trap fell horizontal onto the floor, now that he could no longer keep it standing up vertically. His entire body had been transformed and trapped. It seemed that this was not just a rat trap that was a toy, but rather it was a trap for toy rats. He wiggled and struggled in the trap as much as he could, but it was no use. The sticky, squishy glue simply stretched a bit as he pulled, keeping him helplessly ensnared.

All he could do was wait for his roommate to come home... and likely have a good chuckle before letting him go.

The theme for this day was Trap, and for some, what I went with wasn't particularly surprising.

It also wasn't particularly close to what CrizBN did. He went with a PMD trap and, true to PMD traps, it isn't intended to trap the victim, but instead to inconvenience them.

...Well, okay, I say "inconvenience", but chances are good that it actually did Chris a pretty massive favor. This is PMD after all, and if memory serves, in that continuity he is a Ditto. And Ditto's sole move is Transform. And in most of the PMD games, Transform copies ONLY THE APPEARANCE of a Pokémon. So, his only moves are the basic attack, wasting a turn, or Struggle. And to add insult to injury, he doesn't even get to choose which Pokémon to uselessly turn into.
