The Way the Dice Roll [Pooltoy Gryphon TF/Inflation/Sticky] by Joat

The link was short and non-descriptive, referencing a website that Deirdre had never heard of before. Discord was no help, either; in some cases, it would automatically produce an image preview and/or descriptive text relating to a link posted. The link that Joat sent to her, however, was given no such preview and her attempts to ask him what the link was simply resulted in him referring to it as a surprise and urging her to open it. And so, she did just that. She trusted her love, after all.

She didn’t know what she expected, but it wasn’t this. It seemed to be some sort of online board game. It didn’t require any sort of account, apparently allowing her to play as a guest. The board itself looked fairly simple, a square board with pastel-colored spaces, with question marks on some of them. In the center was an image of a stack of cards with that same question mark on them, next to which was a six-sided die. Overall, the game looked rather simple, though perhaps some more complexity might come through during gameplay. Surely there was something to make this game worthy of Joat’s recommendation, after all, as normally he wasn’t particularly a board game fanatic.

The board itself, though, was faded out along with the cards and die. What wasn’t faded out was a large box at the bottom labeled “SELECT YOUR GAME PIECE”. In that box were various images, all of them of cute creatures of various sorts. Surely, that had something to do with Joat’s recommendation. She browsed the creatures for a while, before finally settling on a gryphon. Then, when prompted for color, she selected purple.

After that, a box came up on the screen, with a loading bar and the text “PREPARING THE GAME SESSION.” The loading bar, unfortunately, was moving rather slowly. She sighed. How could a simple-looking game like this take so long to prepare? Well, given that it had gotten Joat’s recommendation, surely it would be worth the wait. And so, wait she did, tapping her three fingers against the desk, each tap creating a very soft noise as, her fingers squeaking when they rubbed together.

...Wait, huh?

She looked down at her hand, finding that it looked quite different from how she remembered it. Where before it was made of flesh, now it was made of what appeared to be a shiny yellow rubbery material. She was down from four fingers and a thumb to three fingers in front, the three of them spread out more than they had been, and one sticking out of the back. At the end of each of her hands were large, blunt, squeaky white claws. Her hands no longer resembled hands, but rather squeaky bird feet.

It did not stop at her hands, however. Her arms were quickly overtaken by the same squeaky yellow material, her sleeves vanishing along the way. Just above her elbows, the yellow gave way to purple, the same shade of purple that she’d just selected. The purple part of her arms seemed a bit thicker than the yellow, for some reason.

Next, the purple squeakiness spread to her chest, wrapping around to her upper back, as her shirt vanished. She heard a “fwump” sound from behind herself, then looked back to see a wing behind her. She touched it with her talons, realizing that she could feel the talons touching them. They were her wings. Somehow, she had wings now.

Her belly and lower back were changing now too, though unlike above, this part of her torso was a darker shade of purple. Her bellybutton was replaced with a nozzle, revealing that she was apparently becoming a pooltoy. As her pants disappeared, revealing that she no longer had anything left to hide with them, she watched as something grew from just above her hind, short at first but soon becoming long and thin, before finally it was tipped with what appeared to be an imitation of a tuft of fur. She had a squeaky lion’s tail now. Was she... becoming a gryphon, just like she had selected in the game?

The squeaky purple transformation progressed down her legs, changing them from a human shape to one more appropriate for a quadruped. It felt awkward, now, to be sitting in the chair, so she got out of the chair and pushed it aside, getting on all fours just as her shoes were disappearing, her human feet changing to squeaky purple three-toed hindpaws, complete with cute little white claws just as blunt as her foreclaws. She lifted up a paw, discovering that the underside had painted-on pawpads.

She swished her tail in excitement, feeling the back of her head, delighting in the sound of a squeak as she rubbed there. She felt the top of her head next, feeling two triangular ears up there. Soon after that, she saw her nose changing, before it and her mouth changed to a squeaky yellow beak. And with that, the loading bar had finished. Her transformation was complete.

She looked herself over, giving her tail another swish and her wings a couple test flaps, then rubbed her paws together squeakily and rubbed her beak with a talon-foot. She then noticed the prompt on the screen: It was her turn. It was time for her to roll the die. She’d been blessed with such a wonderful new form and the game hadn’t even truly started yet. What other surprises would be in store?

Fortunately, the mouse cursor was already where it needed to be, right over the die. With her beak, she clicked down on the left mouse button, watching an animation play out of the dice rolling before it landed on a four. She watched her piece move four spaces before landing on one of the question mark spaces. Then, one of the cards was animated flying off the stack, then turning over to reveal some text on the other side: “JACKPOT! +400 AIR BONUS!”

Air bonus? Was there an air stat? Was the goal to collect... air? Just what sort of effect would getting more air have on the game? And... why did she hear a strange hissing noise?

She looked all around, having a difficult time locating the source of the noise, before realizing that her belly felt odd. Like it was a bit stretched or... bloated? Looking down, she saw that her belly had indeed grown considerably! Where before her belly was a rather normal size for a gryphon, now it looked like she’d eaten a slightly-deflated exercise ball that was being inflated inside her belly. And just like with her initial transformation, while most would have been frightened by this development, instead this simply got her tail wagging again.

She rubbed her squeaky belly, savoring the feeling of her belly stretching and filling with air. Soon, she felt her belly touch the carpet below, then start pressing against it, before finally it had gotten large enough that her feet could no longer reach the floor. She gave her belly a hug with her forelimbs as it grew rounder and rounder, until finally it had gotten nearly fully round and stopped growing, leaving her resting comfortably atop her own belly.

She then watched the die roll on its own. A different piece, a pink-colored bird, moved five spaces, landing just ahead of her. The space was blank, so it was once again her turn.

This presented her a bit of a problem at first, since she couldn’t move from that spot. However, by momentarily rocking forward, she was able to press the mouse button with her beak. She watched as her piece moved three spaces, landing on another question mark. She then watched the next card turn over, revealing the text, “CANDIED CURSE!” She was once again confused at first, becoming more confused as she saw a thin layer of something thick on her beak, quickly thickening up. In fact, it felt like her entire body was covered in that same substance, which smelled oddly of... bubblegum?

Deirdre blushed brightly, realizing just what that meant! To confirm her suspicion, she tried opening her beak. She felt something stretching between the two halves of her beak, pulling against strongly them before its strength overcame hers, snapping her beak shut again. She tried lifting up her forelimbs, wiggling her talons helplessly as she watched the gum stretch a bit, stubbornly refusing to let go and keeping her limbs stuck to her belly. She wiggled the toes on her paws, feeling the gum squishing between them, stretching and pulling when she tried to separate her toes from each-other. Sure enough, when she tried pulling her paws up from her belly, they were no more successful than her taloned forefeet, the gum stretching a bit and coming nowhere close to letting her paws free. Finally, she tried opening her wings, the gum on her back keeping them thoroughly stuck in place. She definitely wouldn’t be flying now.

And all the while, her tail was attempting to wag, its efforts reduced to a helpless wiggle by the incredibly adhesive bubblegum coating her and keeping her trapped. The game may have called this a curse, but she was having such great fun with it! But a question came to mind: How would she be able to roll the die on her next turn?

She watched the die roll on screen. It was a six. The phoenix game piece moved right past hers, landing on a question mark space. A card turned over, revealing its text: “Move to a random other player’s location.” Sure enough, the game piece moved to the same position as her own. However, she also felt a pressure on her back, like someone or something was on top of her.

It felt, in face, like a pair of taloned bird feet, much like her own forefeet, resting atop her back. She felt one of them pull against her back, then the other, the bird atop her clearly just as helplessly stuck as she was. “You know...” the familiar voice of Joat said, “Fun though the game is, for some reason it’s never been played to completion.” He gave a chuckle. “Now, I wonder why that could be...”

This is a gift I made for ArrogantKitsune. I do not recall specifically why, but given that it wasn't especially close to any major holidays from what I can tell, I think it was a "just because" sort of thing. Either way, please note that I in no way rigged this game. I would never rig this game. (I might have rigged this game.)
