Octransfur Day 22: Trance Enhance [Mew TF] by Joat

Abby looked around her “mystical lair”, at the table laden with tarot cards and a crystal ball, at the star-and-moon-patterned curtains, at all the various tools of her trade. She was a psychic. She thought she was a rather successful one, but as of late she had begun to doubt herself. A few too many predictions were failing to come to pass. Of course, knowing the future did allow one to change it, so it stood to reason that not all of her prophecies would come to pass, but enough failed to come true that she began to doubt herself.

She had prided herself on her work, but all this time... had she been deluding herself? Did she lack the psychic abilities that she thought she had? She didn’t want to believe it, but she didn’t want to run from the truth either. if she was in fact lacking in psychic ability, she had to find some way to fix it, and she had just the idea.

She lit her incense, put on her bead necklace, and sat cross-legged on a fancy blue cushion, before turning on some tranquil music. At this point, one might think that her plan was simply meditation, at least until they took a look at the wall in front of her, where she had hooked up a gently spinning wheel of dark, cool colors. Combined with subtle tonal variations in the music that she had set up just so, she felt like this would be the perfect way to unlock her true psychic potential.

She slowed her breathing, staring at the spinning wheel. At first she was putting conscious effort into relaxing, but that quickly faded, her conscious awareness of her surroundings soon to follow. The spinning wheel in front of her seemed to blur and fade. She felt a comforting warmth around herself, along with a tingling sensation. She had a vague sense like the world around her was growing larger, soon followed by a sense that there was a new part of her developing, like a new limb to accompany many more changes in her physical body. More than that, she felt like a new sense was developing, a new power like she had never truly known before. Under normal circumstances, she would have been ecstatic, wondering if this could perhaps be the psychic power she sought in herself. But right now, she wasn’t thinking anything. Her mind was blank, and though she was vaguely aware of the sensations and experiences she was having, she did not dwell on them at all. She didn’t want to. The only thing in her head was a soft, comfortable contentedness as she sat there, lulled into a hypnotic trance of her own creation.

She did not initially know how long she was in that state, but she was easily able to piece it together when she started coming to, the music winding down and the spinning wheel coming to a stop. She had set both to last about a half-hour, so that must have been how long she had been in her trance for. She took a deep breath, let it out slowly, then began to stand up, at which point she discovered that she felt quite odd.

She looked around, realizing that everything looked so much larger now. Her clothes, including those same beads she had put on before, were now piled around her, looking much too large for her. A part of her felt like she should be frightened at this, but somehow she felt like this was the way things were supposed to be, like she already knew it would be like this somehow.

She looked down at herself, partially alarmed at what she saw, partially unsurprised at the same time. That, in itself, was almost as surprising as what she saw. She was no longer wearing any clothes, but she no longer had anything to hide. She had a somewhat rounded torso now, covered in short pink fur just like the rest of her body now was.

Her arms were much shorter now, ending in cute little pink paws. Her legs were shorter as well, ending in large pink hind paws. Her tail flicked a bit as she looked at it. It was long and thin, with a thicker end to it. Rather than go over to a mirror to see what her head looked like, she conjured a small pink bubble, gazing at herself and seeing that she now had a short rounded muzzle, big cute eyes, and short triangular ears atop her head. A part of her was surprised that she could create a bubble made of psychic energy, or even that she intuitively knew that it was indeed made of psychic energy, while another part of her saw it as mundane and not at all surprising, something she already knew.

She then pushed off the ground, hovering idly just above the floor at first, but soon floating over quickly to the kitchen, where her cat had gotten onto the counter and was just about to knock a quite valuable jar off of it. The jar began to fall, but she quickly caught it in a bubble before setting it back in place on the counter, much to the cat’s surprise.

Abby contemplated what had just happened. She was able to telekinetically float, to conjure bubbles of psychic energy, and to see the future, such as when she knew the jar was about to fall and break. Strange though this form was, she couldn’t deny that it seemed to have granted her incredible psychic abilities. The hypnosis, indeed, had been a resounding success.

The prompt for this day was Hypnotize. Decided to go with auto-hypnosis, because the lack of social interaction makes the story faster to write and I am on a time crunch it's different from what most might do with this prompt.

Despite that, it isn't different in that regard from what CrizBN did. The main thematic difference here is that I went with a deliberate self-hypnosis with accidental TF, while he went with an accidental self-hypnosis with a deliberate TF. It looks like the Mew in that image isn't Chris, which may be for the best. Giving Chris a hypno-TF brush sounds like a terrifying idea.
