One Little Rat Preview - Dialogue

Joat

This is... actually not a screenshot of One Little Rat itself. Rather, because I felt others may want dialogue in their Sonic Robo Blast 2 mods as well, I first developed a stand-alone dialogue script and released that. After that, I implemented the script into my own mod. This screenshot is from the stand-alone version and this specific dialogue is, as it says, a test dialogue.

Below is the full tree for the dialogue test shown:

0) This is a simple dialogue test. Press the jump or spin key to select an option.

Okay! [End dialogue]
Lovely weather, isn't it? [Change weather to raining and sky to overcast, goto 1]
Why? [Goto 2]
I don't have time for this! [Goto 3]

1) Nope!

Dangit! [End dialogue]

2) Just because, alright!?

Alright, sheesh! [End dialogue.]

3) Oh, is that so!? Well, look who's too important to sit and listen for a spell! Why, when I was your age, I knew the PROPER way to address a video game! Back when video games were just sticks and mud, and the graphics were negative-thirteen bits! Oh, those were the days, before all these fancy calls of duties and post-modern warfares. You think you're old-school, do you?

Shut up. [Goto 4]

4) I was playing Sonic Robo Blast Two before you were even born, young whippersnapper! I was playing back before DooM was even invented! That's how old-school I am! I'm so old-school, I'm grade school, dagnabbit! I'm the first grade school ever invented. Back then, we didn't have all those fancy bricks and mortars and fancy-shmancy stuff like that! We had two things: sticks and mud!

SHUT. UP. [Goto 5]

5) And we were HAPPY, gosh-darnit! The students of today have no idea what they're missing. Now they just sit in their high-tech brick school-houses, playing with their game boys because they're too hip and totally radical to spend time with real boys! And don't even get me started on all those virtual boys. Even the students of the world couldn't put up with 'em! Ha! Serves them right!

Ugh... [End dialogue]
