It all turned in the course of a few moments. None of them had noticed the occasional door being locked or the windows being shuttered, until the main hall had been plunged into semi-darkness. Immediately, he was upon them, the once-friendly host now revealing himself as the true predator he was. In the moments of surprise they had, half of the six were already sliding down the owl's gullet, and all but Fluttershy were snapped up shortly after, all while the owl chortled with delight. Such delicious ponies each were; he savored them when he could, but wasn't about to give them the opportunity to escape. At least they knew the answer to the question he'd avoided earlier, "what's a big bird like you eat, anyway?".
