I like the anime Shugo Chara. It's a magical girl story, but there are boys in it too. But whereas most magical girl manga/anime has a magical land that has sent its emissaries to the human world for help, in Shugo Chara the magical land is inside kids, and the magic powers don't come from somewhere else but from the kids' own hopes and dreams. If your dreams are so strong that you're a Character Bearer, your ideal self, the person you dream of being someday, manifests as a Guardian Character (or Shugo Chara), a small cute hovering chibi character that only you (and other Character Bearers) can see. This is Jennie drawn as if she were a Shugo Chara. This is not to say that Jennie is my Shugo Chara, but if she were somebody's Shugo Chara, maybe this is what she would look like.
