Magnum was a bit troubled growing up. he always kept to himself and kept acquaintances rather than friends, and in high school people were a bit intimidated by his deep voice. learning how to swim wasn't the best experience in his life, and he always felt anxious diving into water and swimming underwater. he still struggles with this anxiety in the present day and he deals with depression he started developing during high school.
