"As I grew up, there were many tales about the cave. Tales of a monster so ill and destructive that only the strongest warrior, our leader, could tame and make a pact with. Somehow, this creature could have some sense 'knocked' into them, but it never made much sense. Clinging onto their sense of safety and fear of losing it, the people did not want to bother thinking about other possibilities.

Not long ago, our one tamer died unexpectedly, the reason never disclosed to the public. It triggered panic amongst the citizens; successors were only just starting training and our best warriors were valiantly keeping guard at the border of our country.

Taking matters into my own hands, I decided to sacrifice myself. I managed to gain a large enough following which helped spread the word of my courageous act.

Finally, the day came, just a few after my initial announcement, where I was to set off got my visit to the cave. At the foot of the mountain, hundreds of people gathered to wish me their farewells, the look of fear and hope evident in their eyes; I was not about to let them down.

Waving them all goodbye, I took the first few steps that would mark the most important turning point in my life.

While walking through the all too familiar path, I smiled to myself. At last, my future was looking favorable."
