"You can't be serious, right?...."

Said Isaac, the anthropomorphic Siamese-Cat, stood by the side of his teammate. An equal anthropomorphic fox boy named Viri.

"I mean, come on. What is it that could happen after all?"

"Seriously, Viri!?"

The Feline boy interjected, sounding a little bit angry and releasing a soft huff. Right now, the two anthro boys were in the middle of a field expedition. They both had a short time schedule to achieve all the required tasks to generate a full report before returning to the mothership in orbit. If not, the corporation wouldn't be sending them any credits at all.

The deadline to deliver such a project was the end of the week. An incredible short deadline, especially if considering the whole team was composed of nothing but two members. The Siamese-Cat himself, playing the role of landing engineer for this current project. And the Canine, Fox boy, Viri, who was a geological expert.

"I mean, if we were to contact the ship and request them an extraction, it would take them about two days to get to our current position. Two days of work is too much. If you just agree with my idea, we can have this small problem fixed within some hours."

Said Viri. The boy was trying so badly to change his teammate's mind. The issue preventing both boys from moving forward with their assigned tasks was a minor malfunction within the Viri's land-suit. The fancy spacesuit designed for field exploration the anthropomorphic Fox happened to wear presented some internal malfunctions as displayed by the Fox's personal HUD. Nothing too serious, but enough to prevent some of the gadgets inbuilt within the outfit from working properly.

"OK, allow me to recap. You want me to shrink down to a very tiny size, so I can get into one of the access ports of your bodysuit and fix it. All the while, you're wearing it and getting work done in the field, right?..."

"You see, that doesn't sound too difficult at all. Does it?"

The Fox replied, smiling a wide with a trembling smile and staring at the Feline's face.

"You know,... just how many things could happen?... The countless things that could actually go wrong?... I mean, your suit has mechanical parts, doesn't it?"

The Fox moved his gaze down below to Isaac's paws for a minute, not really getting the Siamese-cat's point. But simply saying.

"Yes, it does, but what's the matter?"

"The matter!!! Viri! With your body moving, the mechanical parts of your suit will be moving as well! And you want to have me tiny tiny and inside of it!"

Isaac buffed one more time, this time moving his gaze away from his teammate and resting one hand on his face. Deep breathing.

"And, just for the recorder. Isn't this land suit of yours one of those brand new, all fancy ones? I mean, how did you manage to get it broken so fast?..."

"Well, you know what. Don't answer that last one. I don't want to hear it. You are indeed a clumsy canine sometimes."

The Siamese-Cat would then turn himself towards the fox one more time, sighing softly and finally asking. But not without first saying.

"OK, I'm 75% sure I'll regret this, but... how just are you planning to shrink me down?..."

The fox boy would happily smile at his teammate, his tail swinging side to side behind his black spacesuit.

"It's called planet sample extractor. Here let me show you!"

Viri would then access one of the many compartments attached to his suit. This specific one is closer to the boy's waistline. Pinching a small glass vial out of it and bringing it up close to the Feline's face.

"And... what is it with these tiny stones inside the vial?"

Isaac asked, sounding confused and not sure if he was looking at the big picture.

"Looking inside again and pay attention to details, kitty!~"

The Fox spoke with a very friendly voice, almost letting out a soft giggle by the end of his sentence but managing to hold himself. The Cat did just as the geologist told, bringing his face and light blue eyes up close to the thin vial between the fingertips of the Canine. The engineer ended up with wide eyes once he realized just what he was staring at!

"Holy shit! These are not stones... Is that..."

"Mountains! Yes, they are big massive mountains. Well, now pretty small ones, but real mountains indeed."

Viri finished the sentence for Isaac. And bringing the small, innocent glass vial back to the same compartment in his bodysuit, close to the inner side of his right thigh. But providing enough time for the engineer to notice small structures within the shrunk mountain that happened to be confined in that vial. The Cat could be almost sure he even saw an entire village within the shrunk mountain moments before the Canine moved it away.

"OK, fine. You proved your point, but... I don't remember reading anywhere about such a gadget that could actually shrink living beings... Or can it? Your suit looks quite fancy after all."

"Well, It actually could...."

The anthro Canine said, moving one hand to the back of his neck to scratch it some while moving his gaze away from Isaac.

"It Could! Are you sure?!"

The Siamese Cat spoke with a slightly thick tone added to his voice, even changing his posture. Crossing his arm and moving one paw forward.

"It can! I'm pretty sure it can!... Well, now... the question is... how small do you need to be to get the work done?"

Vire replied, quickly moving forward with the discussion and moving the focus of the conversation out of the previous point. At the same time, the Canine would bring his bracelet control upwards to his face, already checking within the suit's HUD and commands, taking the advantage to scan his friend.

"Well, I believe... Wow wow! Watch out! Watch out!"

Isaac spoke a little scared, immediately jumping out of the way the moment he notices thin beams of light coming out of the target optical sensor mounted on the Fox's bracelet and aimed towards his body.

"Don't worry, it's just the active scan. I'm not shrinking you now, not yet. I'm just creating a model of you into the suit's internal computer."

Upon listening to that, the Siamese Cat would relax and recur his sentence.

"Well, I think anything around 0.1 mm would be more than enough to allow me to work within the internal components and the electronics. Considering the suit uses integrated components."

Viri would stop for a moment and turn his gaze back to Isaac, wide eyes.

"0.1 mm! But Isaac, that is too small! You would be right on the edge of what the naked eye can see! Almost nano!"

"Ah!!! Now you see! How crazy your little plan actually is?"

The Feline would cross his arm once again, staring back at the Canine with a slightly convinced expression on his face.

"Well, yeah... But Isaac, please!!! If we don't do that, we'll both on the red."

The Geologist Fox spoke while placing both hands together, leaving the Cat no choice but to sigh and tell his teammate to go ahead.

"Great!!! Well, now just let me...."

Viri would then give two steps forwards, invading Isaac's personal space and almost standing on top of the Cat's boots with his own. The boys' face was so up close they could both even feel each other's warm breaths coming out of their muzzles.

"What the hell?..."

"Shhh!! Soon, you'll understand!"

The Fox pressed the active button on his bracelet without allowing Isaac time to speak, and the Feline who stood in front of him vanished in thin air!

Isaac only remembered the last sentence his teammate spoke to him before feeling a strong tingle sensation through his body followed by equally strong dizziness. And then, as soon as it came, it was gone. Leaving the poor Cat a little bit disoriented and by himself as he immediately noticed his teammate was nowhere to be seen.

"Ouch! My head hurts!"

Spoke to the engineer. Lifting one hand to his forehead meanwhile looking around, trying to understand his new surroundings. A second ago, both Isaac and his teammate were at a nice, green lowland. Now, however, Isaac found himself standing in the middle of a vast plain, absentee of any life form. Only sand, rocks, and dust, no matter where he looks at. Saved by the presence of a monumental and colossal black structure in the far distance surging itself from the ground and into the sky for as far his Feline eyes could see.

"Viri!!!! VIRI!!! WHERE ARE YOU! WHAT HELL DID YOU DO TO ME???"

"I'M OVER HERE!!!"
The soft, playful voice of the Fox boy sounded imposingly booming and omnipresent, coming from all directions at the same time almost as if it were a deity creature speaking back to the puny Cat.

"Here where?.... And why so low...."

"RIGHT ABOVE YOU, "SMART" CAT~."

Even before allowing Isaac the chance to finish his second question, Viri ended up answering it for him. The tiny engineer looked upwards. The sight he saw was breathtaking! The almost nano-sized Cat was able to see the vastness of the lower half of his teammate's body looming and extending itself far above him for kilometers!

The Canine boy was standing almost perfectly on top of the spot Isaac was standing on. Allowing the Feline to finally understand why he moved up close to him before shrinking him down. The engineer continued to stare upwards at the magnitude of the skin-tight, outlined suit covering his teammate's body. Soon he realized that he could only see the lower half of the Fox's body. The rest of the boy's body was entirely out of sight, blocked by a thick layer of "clouds" that formed around the Canine's waist and crotch, almost as if it was marking the limits of Isaac's new atmosphere, and Viri stood far above that limit now. A complete imposing sight to see.

"BY THE BASE OF MY HEEL, THERE SHOULD BE AN ACCESS PORT TO MY SUIT WAITING FOR YOU! MOVE FAST AS I DON'T WANT TO REMAIN UNDERNEATH THE SUN FOR MUCH LONGER!"

The colossus-like Fox boy spoke while he tried to remain as still as possible. But given the current size scale difference between them both, even the most subtle changes in instance and posture of the towering anthro was enough to allow Isaac to feel the powerful rumbling noise out of the boy's muscle and tendons adjusting themselves, even so, slight to maintain that monolithic being towering far above.

"Viri!!... If I tell you that you look so... Powerful now... almost like a god,... would you be surprised?..."

"AH... GIVEN YOUR CURRENT SIZE AND LOCATION RIGHT BELOW ME. NOT REALLY."

The multi-mile Fox spoke very casually. Size and scale were part of the field of the expertise of the fox boy. Vire knew very well what Isaac should be expecting. At least more or less. The gargantuan Fox decided to tilt down his head to try and see the puny Feline below. Unfortunately, Viri had no idea that such a simple action ended up sending a city-block-sized sweat droplet falling down below. Even if he was an expert, it was just not really possible to keep track of every single little detail.

For Isaac, however, every single little detail mattered now. The puny Cat had only a small window of opportunity. The Siamese cat managed to dodge out of just before the huge, salty droplet came crashing down right behind him. If anything as small as Isaac was now were underneath that droplet, it could have been easily crushed by the superficial tension alone. Luckily, Isaac was safe. Just covered in warm, oily sweat from his glorious teammate due to the splash.

"WHAT WAS THAT? I JUST HEARD A HUGE SPLASH NOISE. ARE YOU OK? AND BTW, I WAS TRYING TO SEE YOU, BUT YOU ARE JUST TOO SMALL NOW."

Taking a few moments to recover before answering, while staring upwards at the vast Fox boy's toned and outline thighs, Isaac tried to figure out a way to inform his teammate about what just happened and ask him if it was too late to abort the whole plan. But without sounding rude. The last thing he wanted was to have an angry god towering and looming above him.

"Ah... Viri... If I tell you... that a... a single sweat droplet of yours.. almost... crushed me! You... would believe me... right?"

At first, the looming deity like a fox didn't respond. But his muscles did, as the boy adjusted his instance even so slightly. But enough to make Isaac's world down below rumble once again.

"OH! WELL... I GUESS YOU'LL HAVE TO... WATCH OUT FOR THAT, THEN... NO MUCH WHAT I CAN DO OTHER THAN STAY STILL."

As soon as the booming Fox was done speaking, the puny Feline scratched the back of his head. Still staring in awe upwards and trying to figure out what to say.

"I mean... is it too late to call a stop on the whole... fix your suit thing?..."

Almost instantly, the towering god above released a low huff, but due to the scale, even that simple action was magnified to a massive size from the Cat's nano perspective. And if that was not enough, Viri decided to cross his arms, and by doing so, the imposing Fox change the position of his right leg slightly but bringing it up close to Isaac's location.

"EVEN IF WE WANTED, WE COULDN'T. THE DEVICE HAS A THIRY MINUTES COOLDOWN TIME. SO, USELESS, YOU WANT TO BE LEFT BEHIND OVER HERE IF I WERE YOU, I WOULD CLIMB TO THE SUIT BECAUSE I WON'T BE STANDING IN THE SUN FOR THIRTY MINUTES."

THUMP!!!

The huge, black heel of the Fox's boot landed next to the nano Cat. Almost blowing Isaac away if he hadn't used his own suit's gear to keep himself fixed in place. Looking one more time upwards, the Feline realized there was no point in discussing with the looming Canine any further. With no choice left, Isaac could only put himself to work.

Walking up close to the base of that enormous boot. The Feline boy was able to see all sorts of details, from pieces of grass that were crushed, stuck, and sticking out of the boot sole grooves to some dust-like debris stuck to the side of the boot's base. And up above it all, there was the access port waiting for the Cat, a twenty-store tall building away of distance.

"Well, good thing I have climbing gear within my exploration suit."

And then Isaac put himself to work. Being a good climber, the puny 0.1 millimeters tall Feline managed to get halfway from the access port in no time. Thanks to the help of the fancy climbing gear as well. That until his progress was interrupted by the rumbling and thumping powers of the colossal Fox boy left foot tapping impatiently on the ground.

"Ah!!! It would help if you could remain ... "still," Viri."

The godly Fox let out another low ruff and ceased the tapping. The Canine knew it was going to disturb the tiny Cat a little bit. But he did it anyway, only so to remind Isaac that the clock was ticking.

"YOU KNOW, THE MORE I STAND HERE UNDERNEATH THE SUN, THE MORE I'LL SWEAT..."

Isaac didn't even reply to that last sentence from his teammate. The Cat focused on climbing, fastly climbing the last ten floors in terms of high and finally standing on the edge of the huge access port. The Acess port was designed for maintenance, not for the specific kind of maintenance Isaac was about to perform, but to plug connectors and insert tools to unlock the armor plates of the bodysuit, allowing them to be removed, providing access to the internal components.

From the little Siamese-cat perspective, that access port was huge! As large as a subway tunnel.

"OK, Viri! I made it to the access port! Now just let me get in.... AHHHH!"

"THANKS, LORD!"

The titan like Fox didn't even provide enough time for his teammate to finish his sentence. The Canine immediately brought himself into motion! Changing the center of gravity, and without even noticing it, sending his poor, shrunk teammate stumbling downwards towards the interior of his suit components.

THUMMPP!

The very first footstep of the massive anthro made Isaac's whole world shake within the confines of that suit. The Siamese-feline immediately got lost within the interior, no longer seeing the light coming from the outside world through the entrance.

THUMMPP!

The Second step ended up with poor Isaac hitting against some of the internal components. At this moment, Isaac wished he had fixed his climbing gear on something like he did before to avoid being thrown around just like now.

THUMMPP!

Finally, within three steps, the gargantuan Fox made it to the campaign tent they had just finished putting up the moment Viri noticed something wrong with his bodysuit.

"OK, ISAAC, I SHALL STAY STILL FOR THE NEXT HOUR, I THINK. I'LL LET YOU KNOW IF I HAVE TO MOVE OR SOMETHING. GOOD LUCK IN THERE."

Isaac heard the booming voice of his titanic teammate. However, something was off about it now. It wasn't as loud as before when he was outside and in the opening. Probably thanks to the heavy tons and thick layer of suit armor between the nano Cat and the outside world now. Of course, the suit armor wasn't all that impressive, but for someone as small as Isaac now, it was like an impenetrable fortress. But, all of that wasn't the thing that got the Feline's attention.

"Oh shoot! My comms dot! Where is it?"

The expression on the nano anthro Cat changed into terror and despair immediately! Due to all of that shaking and stumbling, Isaac lost his comms link somewhere inside the internal parts of the suit-boot of his teammate. Not no need to say that without that thing, there is no way Isaac could possibly talk to an imposing god-like Viri now.
