The Anthro-Saur Saga - EMP Fallout

Inkblot

The first attacks on the humans were the EMP blasts. These blasts knocked out 95% of earths technology, leaving the humans helpless. These EMP blasts were launched much like nuclear missiles, and were shot at key points across the glob. The blasts expanded out hundreds of miles from the initial impact site, letting the anthro-saurs hit every nation on the planet with only a few dozen attacks. The EMP blasts had a nasty side-effect however: The initial impact sites got bathed in so much energy, most, if not all of the area was vaporized. Because of this, the anthro-saurs plotted out high population areas, government hubs, and potential human army bases, and used them as the epicenters for their global attack.

The EMP also had an effect on people who were close to the center of the blast, but didn't fall into the vaporization zone. The massive energy burst messed with their nervous systems and organs, Causing a 2nd wave of death. These areas were considerably larger than the vaporization zones, and as such affected a large amount of the population. This was done as a deliberate attempt remove much of the opposition to the anthro-saurs, as well as to divert the human's resources to taking care of their injured. It is believed that 15%-25% of earths population was affected by the EMP blasts in some way.

However, Despite this massive blow to the humans, the anthro-saurs were shocked to see that they were still facing considerable resistance from the people of earth. While 95% of the earth's technology was made useless, the 5% that survived were made mostly of EMP resistant weapons the goverments of the world had been developing. It seems that tensions were quite high between the many nations of earth, and each was preparing their resources in the event one of the more unstable nations decided to attack. The anthro-saur attack actually helped ease the tensions between earth's people, as now faced with a common enemy, the nations of the world worked together for the first time in decades.

To counteract this, The anthro-saurs adopted an isolation strategy. They would corner off nations and seize control of their resources. Then, they would use that nations power to attack other nations. Once the neighboring countries were weakened, the anthro-saurs would invade and take over them as well. This was easier said than done however. The antho-saurs initially planned to take control of the superpowers of the world, and work their way down, but that proved to be quite a mistake. The superpowers were more well armed than anticipated, and other nations quickly diverted resources to them to aid in the fight. By the time the anthro-saurs moved onto taking over smaller nations, the superpowers had already gained enough power to put up a considerable fight.

By this point, The anthro-saurs were 2 years into their 5 year time limit, and they started to get worried. Faced with the growing reality that this war could go on too long, and their home could be wiped out before they manage to take over the earth, the anthro-saurs started looking for new ways to gain the upper hand...
