I could be the one (critique requested)

Iko

winter much under way here in Ohio and much of the rest of the US and I'm not enjoying it as I usually do. I WANT SANDY BEACHES AND FRUITY DRINKS AND HOT SEX DAMNIT ;n;

ah well, I've had this in my head inspired by this song/video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bek1y2uiQGA

I still haven't gotten the hang of water.

    A little bit about the water. I find the rendering of it to be pretty well done actually, what seems problematic is that the color gives it a depth that is a bit unrealistic for a beach. At the moment you're using a marine blue which should generally be seen really close to the horizon line but not much further than that. Then you would generally see a lighter and lighter blue as it got closer to the beach and eventually a light gray and blue mix as it hits the beach .

    I hope this helps D: I could paint a bit over it if that might be helpful.

      The original version had very little blue color in the water, I was given a critique that it looked too flat and boring. I feel adding little waves improved but the color still bugged me. Perhaps using a reference photo could have helped a great deal : http://webneel.com/wallpaper/sites/default/files/images/04-2013/20-beach-sea-photography.jpg

          I think I may have made an improvement, I'm still a little unhappy with it but the color does look better. I re-uploaded a different file!

            That does look a lot more lively now! Maybe with a few more drawings featuring beaches you could get it down perfect :3

              Certainly, most of my scenery stuff I'll put up for critique. I always love getting some 'u'
