More realistic-ish painting. Trying to get better at my actual art skills. Since doing linework and shading it tend to not get my art to improve as drastically. It makes me stagnant.
Feeling a bit better today, enough to get this out at least. Was me speed-painting as fast as I could.. though that seems to have been a bad idea... hand is now much ouchies.... sigh can't seem to win today.
Pyre is such a sexy deviant... I swear he is normally a good guy.

This close up of his head is beautiful - really shows his uniqueness. Some of the things that really grab me about this: The eye - not just the detail, but the shape of the highlight reflection. It seems to imply more to the scene - someone in the room, a setting just out of frame that we're not seeing, just... something more than a normal reflection. The blue glow - I love how it is subtle but intriguing in how it comes from the slight part in the paw, and through one of his naires. The Beak - It's a great stark contrast in texture to the feathers and proto-fur that cover the rest of him.
So I'm curious - if this was a speed paint, how quickly did you get it done? Also, glad your feeling a bit better - hope fully much better by morning for the trip. :/
