The guy is a Blastoise, the girl is a Chimecho.

The guy is named Branimir (Branny), the girl is named Cadence (Cady)

Branimir is Cadence's uncle. He is 28, she is 10.

They live in a house in a lower-income neighborhood with Cadence's mother, who works at the local high school. Because Cadence's mother is afraid of her daughter getting hurt or bullied, she has Branimir homeschool her, which is also how he earns his room and board.

Branimir is a sort of hack-inventor. While his ideas start out in the right place, somehow they always end up being waterguns. He's rather good at making water guns, by now.

Cadence really likes Branimir because he's like a dad, uncle, and a big brother all at once. Her dad divorced her mother when she was much younger and Cadence is an only child, so having a guy around the house is new to her.
