She glared at him, growling loudly in anger; this had been fun for her before but now it had become an irritating nuisance. Despite what she did to him, he refused to talk, refused to give away anything that he might have known.

But what got her the most was the fact that he seemed down right smug about it, that ever present smirk made her so angry.

"Why do you keep resisting?!" She yelled at him, fresh blood on her hands, "This could have ended a long time ago! What is she to you?"

Zech looked up at her, one eye squinting while the other was still closed. He was beaten and bloody, and yet, he still managed to smirk at her. “Figure it out yourself...”

What was she to him? She was his mother, and that was something he would refuse to tell them.

First picture of 2014 and I decided to be mean to Zech. I’m a horrible person sometimes.

I’ve been really mean to Zech for a while, and this idea has been in my head for a long time and I finally managed to get it out on paper.
Despite how mean this is, I think it shows some good points about his character, his loyalty and the fact that he’s willing to resist whatever happens to him to protect those close to him while still being a bit cocky about it.
