This is another attempt at a mock-screenshot image that is also some fan/gift art to my friend Yark-Wark of her Team Prototype team.

So, the idea of this requires some explanation:
Some time ago I had asked Yark about the main protagonists of the team and a few things were revealed:

• Phin (the red guy for those unfamiliar with him) is meant to be the engineer of the team and I and despite his outward demeanor he has a slight crush on Nix (the bird lady there).
• Nix is pretty much the main fighter of the group and she has some interesting abilities; when powered-up her colors take on a red-orange kind of look, but when powered-down, she has this gray look to her. Her kind also wear ‘headphones’ that actually allow them to hear sound like the others.

I see this team as being a kind of ‘Saturday morning cartoon show’ (something more along the lines of Gargoyles), all kinds of interesting scenes could come about with them and this was one idea that came to mind, though it’s meant be more serious.

Something happened that caused Nix to be cut-off from the rest of the group and as ended up getting stuck in several difficult fights, causing her to loose her ‘headphones’ as well as drain her of her strength and start to get beaten up pretty badly. When everything would seem to be going bad for her, that’s when she’s found by Phin.
Seeing Nix being beaten up like this causes him to get rather angry and, without thinking and thankfully with no one else around to hear him, he pretty much swears to get revenge for what happens to her.

The scene could be pretty interesting, and I imagine that in the end he would get pay back for Nix with everything working out in the end like all good cartoon shows do.

This idea has been in my head for a long while and I attempted to work on it before with disastrous results. While this attempt is a bit better, I’m not exactly thrilled with it, especially with the backdrop: even if that isn’t meant to be the main focus it was suppose to help set the scene, but it seems rather…bleh to me. Abstract is good, but it looks pretty…bleh.

This might be an idea I will revisit sometime down the line, see if I can improve on it.

(Oh, and for the record, I kind of equate Nix and Phin to Major Kira and Odo from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Phin will keep the relationship ‘professional’ until an appropriate time, or until he blurts it out by accident.)
