What is he exactly...? Some kind of human/elf/monkey thing? O.o?

So I've been playing Majora's Mask 3D for a few days now and noticed a lot of things that I've forgotten about. Once I stepped into the deku palace, I fondly remembered the wonderful ost that came with it as well as the interesting situation with the dekus. I even remember this little guy so well too, who was surprisingly brave for a little monkey. O.o I thought he was really cool, so I decided to draw him. I don't remember what happens after the temple at the moment, so I drew as he was when he was imprisoned. ^^;
