A comic about my dog, Ace, based on true events when I was upset and dwelling on a lot of things.
This dog is really something else.
And I love animals for this reason. It's like no matter how shitty your life may be, these guys will always find a way to make your day ever brighter.

needless to say, the things that are close to me, people and pets included, are helping me inch my way out of my slump.

This is so beautiful and pulls at my heart strings. I have a cat and she understands when I'm upset but she doesn't always try to comfort me. She's like the awkward friend that doesn't really know what to do in that kind of situation.
I miss having a dog. One like yours. This comic is gorgeous. I'm glad you have a friend like that. C: -

The gradual transition from black and white to color in the end really drives that effect home. How hard was it to find colors for the middle panel, the one halfway through that transition? Because "I want this panel to look like it's sort of in color, maybe getting there but not quite there yet" strikes me as one of those effects that can't be easy to do.
