My first official picture for the Tenchi Muyo! canon divergeance is complete! I given everyone a couple days on which spinoff I was going to rip a character from and splat here and Amitav is the answer.

So in my canon divergence, Sasami and Amitav are a couple… sort of. They actually are both a part of the Tenchi harem though it isn’t entirely sunshine and daisies. Sasami wanted to start a romantic relationship with Amitav and Washu was the one to give actual conditions to how this would play out without Juraiyans having a fit: Amitav had to join the Tenchi harem, Tenchi had to approve of the relationship, and Tenchi had to have Sasami’s first born child in this exchange (the rest can be Amitav’s if Sasami ever chooses so). They surprisingly are happy to oblige to these terms, as Amitav’s culture in this canon divergence had these rules set to begin with (He might develop some romantic attachment to Tenchi…) Actually, not very surprising as in this canon divergeance, Amitav is a descendant of a collection of Homunculi Washu built and a now extinct race from a planet destroyed by a now dead star, Amitav being the sole survivor of both.

Mayuka was said first born. (I actually ripped a screenshot from one of the earlier Tenchi OVAs to get her coloring. That’s why she’s so red.) She does appear more like Tenchi but that might change as she eventually grows up.
