Day 72 - KateStrife Asked: "Ember in a costume she’d wear for Halloween!"

Black Crystal Day is Herstia’s equivalent of Halloween. It’s primarily a religious holiday taught by the Apostles as a day in which “spirits” rise from the Crystal Herstia and cause the quiet wailings you hear around the kingdom during the duration. Although disconcerting, the lepus populace that didn’t share beliefs started celebrations similar to trick-or-treating, with spooky dressing up that revolved around equally eery half-masks. As it turns out, Herstians appreciated that version of the Holiday as well and it became a tradition for both those that are and aren’t following the Apostles’ teachings.

After starting college, Ember had the chance to celebrate it for the first time in a few years. Although unsure how to go about it, Pearl helped her with it, right down to tying her hair back so that her vision wasn’t more obstructed than it already was. Ember enjoyed wearing such a long dress in black, and enjoyed the cloak even more - she felt very pretty indeed. Not so sure about spooky though.
