decided to do an art summary/year in review this year, since 1) i actually had enough pictures to (last year i didn't), and 2) i think i've improved a lot this year (though sadly, my most improvement is in pictures that aren't done yet). i'll put blurbs and links to the pictures below.

january was almost entirely adoptables. i drew this to take a break from them. i had been trying to find a quick way to make fur look like fur- it didn't really work.

february was mostly adoptables, too. actually, pretty much the whole year was adoptables, because they seemed to be the only thing selling. this was probably about the time when i realized how much i hate inking, and almost none of my personal drawings got inked.

month of my birthday, a new laptop, intro of the kirin collabs and cake adopts, and bunny finally got a ref. her hair's been changed multiple times since then, but the lines on her ref are still the same- she'll definitely be getting a new one for the new year.

the month of the jingle bunnies- they were pretty much all i drew, because i actually made almost minimum wage when they sold. to this day, they're the only thing that gives me more than a dollar or two an hour when sold. their popularity was extremely short-lived, though.

i was spending a lot of time trying to detail my coloring. i also made my first attempt at a bronze artist, which didn't work at all. i was trying really hard to get people to commission me, rather than making adoptables.

june was a lot of personal art, new characters, and gift art. i also gave up on ever entering another draw-to-adopt. i started using sai's built-in textures a lot more, too. 'catgirl' adopts were introduced, and i hit 300 watchers.

didn't do much art-wise, though i started planning an iron artist. my new laptop started having problems.

was really into trying to get commissions, because i wanted to make a halloween costume and get a 3ds before pokemon came out. i finally made myself a visual commission price guide, finished my website, started my iron artist, revamped my bronze artist, finished some older personal art, and changed jaz's design a bit.

started trying to change my style more towards what i wanted, and inking with thinner lines. my fa ad went live. i tried a 'your character here' auction, as well as a character design auction, neither of which were bid on.

introduced the chibi critters, and promptly ignored them. started seriously trying to get better at chibis and find my own style for them. sold the first slot of my bronze artist. did very little art wise.

posted a couple of sketch dumps, and finished a single personal picture. my 'good' laptop died; commence the month of serious laptop issues. made the fourth kirin on my old laptop. hit 400 watchers. accidentally changed my style and loved it.

started making icons, some of which were animated. old laptop died. went crazy for a couple of weeks until my good laptop was finally fixed, and finally actually working well; promptly drowned myself in drawing. chopped bunny's hair off the day after i cut mine. worked on chibis and coloring; i'm pretty close to liking how i do both of them now. made a bracelet, and some things out of sculpey (pictures will hopefully be up soonish), and made a couple of batches of collab kitties.

so, that was this year. i think i improved a lot; maybe next year i'll finally get to my dream style. but if not, i'm okay with the one i've got for a while :3
