anywho, someone a looonnng time ago asked for the most interesting interaction between marco and mother s, which is like. there’s a few i’d pick out of the line, but i feel like they all need world context i’m still too much of a weenie to put up. SO. their first one-on-one.

mother isn’t used to things not falling in line with her wants or her plans, and when faced with things seemingly “out of her control” she reverts to violent tantrums to get things back in their appropriate place

this would’ve been pretty shortly after marco’s integration into his newfound culture, so i think being unexpectedly thrown back into that kind of attack after considering it solidly behind him would have messed him up pretty bad for a while after; with mother not really getting what’s so wrong since “punishment was dealt and is now over” and all that
