I'm really not the best to ask but some people seemed to think this was a good idea. This also completely ignores every other weird thing about these guys' faces (like asymmetrical skulls, immobile eyes, turn radius).
I usually forget in the process of trying to keep a simple, recognizable set of shapes, but barn owls have faces pretty much like every other bird of prey. They just have a lot of face fluff.
Maybe once I get more comfortable I'll do more general things but eh. uvu
Videos that demonstrate what I'm talking about (since seeing them move is infinitely more helpful to me):
-Mouth movement / disc squash (volume warning!)
-Clear mouth movement
-Clear beak profile
