Originally not nearly as foreboding as it is now, this was supposed to be an illustration of an inter-dimensional portal in a story I'm working on. A Halloween contest was coming up when I was ready to upload it though, so with some adjustments I added the skull-like image as well as the shadowy glow-eye figures within. As a result I ended up staying with it and am now adapting this to add a little classic-style horror to the tale.
