Lotte is an apothecary assistant. The purse on their back contains packets and bottles of medicines and balms. Lotte is a swift runner, which comes in handy for their job because they often have to dash to various locations in the village to deliver medicine. The large bell at their neck alerts others to make way, but also serves as a comforting sound to the sick, knowing help is on the way. Lotte is excellent at directions and knows the town and its peoples locations well. Their mane is kept trimmed short to keep it clean and out of the way. Because of their job, Lotte has become a different elkh from before. They used to be enthusiastic and chipper, but the harsh reality of seeing patients suffer or perish has taken a toll on them. Lotte is still kind and personable while taking their job very seriously, but there's certainly a sad note in their demeanor these days.

Gert is a stout and sturdy mountain bepotelkh, made stronger by the rough labor of a blacksmith assistant. They're young and a little cocky, opining that elkh who don't work are perhaps not as respectable as those who do. But aside from this flaw, Gert is very loyal to the blacksmith and has a strong bond with them. Much of Gerts time is spent in the dark and dusty blacksmith workshop, always nearby with tools that might be needed and strong legs to pump bellows. At the end of the day, the blacksmith might hose Gert down to remove some of the soot, but what Gert loves best is trotting off for hours to find their favorite waterfall-fed pool to bathe in so their lovely mane can shine again.
