Mortal Background: When Shay was mortal he used to be in the military. He was a good soldier and got the job done. He was good at close quarters combat but had better preference to long range(ie. sniper rifles). But one day on a routine job on scouting with his Spotting partner, they got caught in the middle of booby trap. Being outnumbered and out gunned they were captured and became prisoners for interrogation. Shay watched as the enemy tortured and killed infront of him and when they decided it was Shay's turn for questioning, he was rescued with only a few broken bones by the platoon he was registered in.

Shay was given leave because of medical reasons. Although his bones were mended, his mentality was not so much the same. Shay became an introvert and a shut-in, moving far out in the country. He hardly went out and his PTSD left him extremely paranoid and refused to go to the help meetings or take his medication. Then one day Shay just could not handle jumping at every sound and ended it with cutting his wrists. It was weeks before anyone noticed his passing. By chance Shay's family was a superstitious believed that criminals and people who have committed suicides were to be buried at a crossroads.

Present Background: When Shay went to hell for committing the sin of suicide, he was tortured day in and day out, it corrupted his soul. By chance somehow someone saw the power Shay held within. And power and skill, Shay did have with in. Shay was then trained in his abilities and seemed to have a knack for Reality Warping. With Shay's natural given demonic skills and his ability to warp reality he was given a job that was quite ironic; a Crossroads Demon. It was Shay's job to make deals with humans and collect their souls.

With this new life and now freedom on earth, Shay prefers the 'I Do What I Want' attitude. He still does his jobs but enjoys his wasting his time up on the mortal field. Be it chain smoking and drinking a good pint or causing havoc if he feels like being a dick. When he is causing havoc its usually behind a 'justified' reason. With the amount of trouble Shay can cause, he has been surprisingly under the Demon Hunters and Angel's radars. Although with the rough terrain that is between his kind and the Demon Hunters/Angels, Shay has a devil may care attitude towards it. Although mortal Demon Hunters don't cause much trouble or worry in the loss of his life, the only real fearl and weakness he has is with the Angels and angelic weapons.
