Danny's Rambles

I have to say, thanks to the "Miss Nickelodeon" pageant, I've been starting to get into the grove of drawing characters from other properties and franchises- especially those that I've seen have fanart seldom drawn for them.

I mean, honestly, you'd think a big a name as Madagascar would have more fanart of its characters than you'd think. Granted, the penguins are getting a LOT of action from that- and to be honest, I don't mind them- I LOVE those crazy penguins (who doesn't?). The penguins are not my concern. I mean the MAIN characters from the three movies.

Fine, I'll admit... the four of them... aren't nearly as interesting nor as fun as the penguins. It's not that they don't have character or are BAD characters... I just like... pretty much everybody ELSE better than the main characters... except for Mort. Nobody likes Mort ^{(Why do I get the feeling I'm going to regret saying that?)}.

Anyway, the one character I have to say I've always been pretty fond of for... um... design... would be Gloria...

... shaddap. You know DAMN well why. >_>

So, I've decided to take my crack at her and make here anthropomorphic... well, just a bit more than she already is.

As far as her proportions are concerned, I played with them a little bit to see what would fit best to her new body shape, now that she's more human-like. Being a hippo, she naturally has a large frame. But Gloria herself is never directly designed as or referred to as "fat", because... that's how hippos are (again, naturally). So I decided to design her as... ^{what's the right word?}... "big".

... just look at the pic and you'll see what I mean. Also, I gave her clothes. Tribal/beach style clothes considering WHERE they where stranded, this just seemed to make sense. So why the Mature Tag for "nudity"? Well... I'm not sure if this counts for Gloria exactly, since her... um, rear, is always exposed(and VERY prominent, so you can't tell you don't see it, either!) I actually wondered if this should count; but I tagged it just to be safe.

So... why did I ink her design? Does this mean I'll draw her like this, again? Well... who knows? Maybe. It's not like I have something planned for hr, or anything like that... not at all. >_>
