i've been wanting to make a bird character for myself for some time now. Always have been involved with birds since I was little. My grandpa raised Ostriches, African Guineas, and Peacocks on his farm. As well as cattle, but those are kinda boring being from the TX panhandle(their is a town covered in feedlots).
And since the science community has linked Dinosaurs(my all time favorite subject) and Birds together, I have been more and more fascinated with studying birds as well.

My older sister and I would also try to help baby birds that fell from their nests when I was young too. I've always wanted a pet bird of my own, but my parents have never allowed them in the house. I will own my own flock of chickens one day!
I can also identify all the birds in my area and can identify the majority via their songs. I would love to go bird watching this summer. It kinda blows my mind the variety you get up north though! still can't identify them all, but one day! one day!

I think though the most significant bird encounter though was when I rescued a red tailed hawk that had apparently been shot in the wing and was unable to fly. I remembered how to deal with them from previously watching steve irwin and other animal handlers on TV as well as from raptor shows. I had my uncle come help and before he grabbed it i threw a towel over it's head to calm it. After catching it we handed it over to animal services to heal and rehab it. I think ever since then i've loved red tailed hawks, and we had a few move into the area since!

I don't have a name picked out for her yet, and i'm still thinking of colors for her. White? Black? normal? Piebald???

we'll see.

I'm also still figuring out the feet on her as well.
