Archeopteryx on Madrona Tree Bark by HAZARD

Archeopteryx on Madrona Tree Bark

HAZARD

When I was in WA I went walking around the Seattle residential area with my bf and a friend of our. She was showing us the trees and plants since I hadn't seen so many interesting plants. We found a Mardrona tree and they're so cool! They unravel their bark like paper scrolls and we pulled off a few dead pieces(I plan to have one in my yard when I finally move to WA, infinite Madrona Bark!). I never thought of what to draw or paint on them, but felt the urge to test out the paper bark....this is what came from it. I had to be careful since it was dried and very delicate.

Did my own take on Archeopteryx. I just used the fossil and based it from what I thought or could see and doodled it out with my colored pencils.

This makes me want to get some colored stonehenge paper to try out.

I plan to matte frame this and possibly do the art show at RF this year.
