Oh wow, what a beautiful painting! I'm really enjoying these bright, vivid colors. :) When I saw the thumbnail before clicking on it, I was sure this must be a digital painting. Did you have to do any color corrections digitally after scanning the piece?

I have to admit, I feel bad for that octopus XD

  No there is no any special corrections. Just balance of white to make paper initially white and few points of color saturation to restore it original contrast =3

  By the way the real blue color is even little more deeper than this scanned color.
