California recently had a governor recall election that failed, and it made me think of the time Dead Kennedys singer Jello Biafra ran for mayor of San Francisco in 1979. He was basically the Vermin Supreme of his time, and it inspired me to do this drawing. Imagine if Jello had decided to run for governor in the recall election? Jello and the Dead Kennedys once wrote a song in 1978 mocking then-Governor Jerry Brown called "California Über Alles." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4S_yl2uCm0 Jello and the Melvins did an updated version mocking Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2005, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djq3PJVxujg however I don't think he's done a newer version about Gavin Newsom or any of the other recall candidates in 2021. I could only imagine what Jello would have done had a lunatic like Larry Elder had won the governor recall.
