In memoriam of an amazing magician, James Randi, Aug 7, 1928 - Oct 20, 2020. He's been an inspiration to me, encouraging skeptical thinking and an openness to learn. His videos where he challenges psychics, faith healers, and other "woo-woo" artists are good lessons in thinking critically and being wary of claims that sound too-good-to-be-true. I'll link one of my favorite videos below.
This video clip might be of interest again since Uri Geller recently made the news apologizing for making Nintendo ban the Pokémon Kadabra for being too similar to him. I can only imagine how Randi would have reacted. Probably would just have a good laugh.
Anyway, it's been a looooong time since I last tried to do a shaded drawing of a human subject like this. I don't think I've done a drawing like this since maybe art college? Hopefully I'm not out of practice.
