Alright, so lets start tonight off with something not folky. This track was released a year or two ago, but I only came across it fairly recently. I was listening to Ulver, and noticed it in the sidebar. I'm a bit disappointed I didn't stumble across it sooner honestly.

So yeah, I've been employed by the same people for the last 7-8 years now. All things considered, I'm doing pretty well for myself. I've got a nice flat, a good income, a pretty fat fuckin' cat, and no immediate worries I can think of. Compared to my situation just a few years ago, this is down right paradise. A pretty boring paradise, but you get the drift.

Pretty successful, right?

Eh... I guess. I'm sure many people end up feeling this way, but stagnation has set in.

The work that I do isn't especially something I am proud of. Yes, it pays my bills and lets me lead a life with very few wants. Yes, I have a level of respect for the work that I do. But doing the same basic job for 8 years, doing something I'm not sure I entirely agree with, kinda sucks the life/fun out of you.

I know dick all when it comes to Icelandic (to be fair, I can barely speak English), but I gather the video/song is about letting go of the baggage (sort of). I like to look at it that way at least - it's working as a good motivator.
