For Ash on DA.
Aha! :) I wish it would run on Mac too. >.> So how do you get the line-art so neat? Do you all draw it by hand, or do you use some tool for it?
I do it by hand. SAI is vector based so in general all the lines will look nicer, it does have a pen tool though you can use in it as well.
Wauw, everything by hand! It's amazing how you get the lines so smooth and everything, just by hand. :D But SAI makes all lines drawn into vectors automatically? Guess my next computer should be a Windows one. xD
Well you could dual load windows on your comp, but yeah I don't particularly care for Mac since you need simulators to run any of the windows programs. >.< Much pain in butt. lol
And yeah everything in the program uses vectors, it's not going to let you blow the canvas up and keep the quality perfectly smooth like illustrator or flash but the lines are super crisp in comparison to PS. I haven't used PS to draw in a very long time because of that and sometimes I randomly will lose pen pressure in it, and I don't even know why. @.@
Eep, losing pen pressure in PS? O_O Hmm. I had that problem when I was working in SAI and I got a new tablet. Pen pressure didn't work in SAI. But then I started working is PS on mac, so that's kind of the only handy alternative I have now.
And yes, the simulators are a pain in the butt indeed. xD That's why I stopped using Windows on my Mac. :P
If you're using a Wacom, the newest drivers for them won't support SAI. My friend ran into that problem. :< She even emailed them and they flat out said there's no support for it anymore.
Have you looked int Fire Alpaca?
I'm using a Bamboo touch, so indeed that's Wacom's work. Pity..
I never heard of Fire Alpaca, does that work similarly as SAI?
Well, I downloaded FireAlpaca and it works! I made this picture with it, so I guess I can say it went well working with it for the first time. https://www.weasyl.com/submission/709038/nyan-noodles Thank you again for pointing this program out to me, it's a great help! :D
Definitely am. It is so much handier for lineart. I think I might stick to this for a while now, at least for the more simple styled drawings. It works like magic and the result is so much cleaner with the lineart than in Photoshop. :) I'm really glad you advised me to use this program. Thanks again. <3
