The world of art is a crap shoot half the time admittedly
I notice I do the first one to friends, this has changed my mind to stop

Oh, I cannot thank you enough for this piece of artwork. Its very informative! Honestly, I've caught myself going against the second point in the past. Learned a lot since then though! ;3

I still adore your amazingly comical and expressive art-style! :D

I love these when you do them I just hope people actually read & follow the rules*

Do you still have the previous ones up somewhere? I don't see them in any of your galleries.

All four are on youtube, and the first two I still have the old crappy comic form in scraps on DA.

i 100% agree with all of this. i haven't experienced all of them myself but i have seen others go through them and im like... damn. artists have it rough, i'm glad that hasn't happened to me yet (and i've dealt with some bs already in my short time doing commissions)

but what hits home the most for me is the last one... g o d i can't even begin to tell you how many people have tried to tell me to lower my prices, even as "advice," when i've explicitly stated i can't afford to

it is the most frustrating thing and i would get really mad every time tbh because someone even had the gall to say they KNEW artists were treated unfairly and my art WAS worth the price, but i shouldn't be charging because i "don't have a big enough following." i totally wrote a long rebuttal and even went off on my twitter about it, because that was like a slap to the face. luckily they apologized and backed off but like?

DAMN don't EVER tell an artist to lower their prices. ever. i don't care how good your intentions are. you don't know what's going on in their lives and maybe that's ALL they have to make it by?? (speaking from experience)

Yea it's very demeaning to do so. I mean sure charging industry rates isn't really feasible for private work, I have seen a few trying to charge that, but 98% of artists I know undercharge badly. :<
