A reference for my Chalicotherium. Some things to note:

His upper jaw has no teeth, but a dental pad like deer and cattle have. He does NOT have canine teeth (fangs) and is a herbivore.

His tongue is long, purple, and prehensile.

He walks on his knuckles, to protect his massive claws. They aren't for combat (though they'll do in a pinch) but are used for browsing trees. He sits on his haunches for stability and pulls branches down within reach with his claws.

He is a perissodactyl, meaning odd-toed. He has three clawed digits on each limb. They are actually odd shaped hooves that evolved to be claw-like!

Lastly, he is larger than you might think! Bigger than a horse, eye-to-eye with a bull moose, and heavyset.
