I feel really confused because I watched the movie like a hundred times when I was a kid but I don't remember this scene. A great picture though!

yess you're not wrong, it's just that I did a scene from the book the movie was based on! in the book, Rumbo dies crashed by the cars in the junkyard, when he tries to protect his owner from being arrested. thank you!

Now I want the book, I never knew there was a book! D: I just googled it and woah! James Herbert also wrote some detective stories, I might like that! Definitely not reading Rats though, every author who writes about "huge mutant killer rats" is just asking for a punch in the teeth from me (keeping rats for over a decade by now).

Also since the movie is set in the US I never knew the story is actually by a British writer. Makes it even better for me! Pff, Americans, they can't seem to do any story not set in their country! When the BBC filmed Wallander they kept the setting Swedish, now that's respectful.

I also only recently found out about the book, a month ago or so. Bought it immediately online, used, for like 2$ haha. Hmm the book imo is quite different from the movie, more... metaphysical, focuses more on the being reborn, than his story and past life. I think I prefer the movie, but it was a nice experience to read it!
haha yes, the story actually takes place in the UK, and in the 1970's! lmao I know what you mean with the mutant killer rats. I'm laughing every time they get mentioned somewhere and it's such a popular motive hahaaa
I also had rats!! they were sweet boys, I miss them u_u

I just went and found a digital copy right now (buying a kindle was one of the best decisions I made last year!) - yeah, I expect it to be different but I love comparing books to movies. Actually one thing I liked about the film was that it didn't talk down to kids and was grim in a lot of places - it was a pleasant surprise considering that it was always marketed as a family comedy ("look kids, a talking dog!").

I dunno if you ever read Dogsbody by Diana Wynne Jones? One of my top favourite books and also involving a dog who used to be someone else, give it a try maybe. :)

And awww, good to know! :D Rats are amazing! I need to upload photos of my current rats somewhere, they are such a bunch (two brothers, really regretting not getting one more rat from that litter but they were the only males). I always pick boys for some reason, it's a sort of tradition by now.
