Taking a Moment - by Fossil

"I can't remember the last time I was up here. I can't remember the last time I watched the sun rise like this.

Come to think of it, when's the last time I watched the sun set? My apartment faces north-west, for Pete's sake.

What is it about a beautiful sun rise that makes people stop what they're doing and gaze at it in fascination? We all know it's there, and that every day in the morning it'll be back. This isn't like some rare miracle. Yet even I can't help myself from looking up and watching it elevate over the horizon. It is absolutely beautiful to behold. Here I am, awestruck by such a simple thing.

Mind you, the view is pretty nice up here, too.

I've been pretty blessed over the years. I've got great friends, great lovers, good fortune... hell, I'm lucky to be alive. To be able to witness moments like these.

I've got everything I could possibly want. Life's been very good to me. Hopefully I've left a good impression in the lives of those I care about.

I should get back inside. I haven't slept all night."
