What A Sad Little Dragon by GoddessGoodra (critique requested)

What A Sad Little Dragon (critique requested)

GoddessGoodra

I made this piece last week. It was tying a lineless more painterly like style but it turned into a kind of a coping mechanism during a dark time.

Pretty satisfied with the end result, it looks way better than I expected at least.

Feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Oh my, I love the soft colours and the way the palette goes well together! The star markings are my favourite, since I am a fan of stars in that style aha.

Perhaps work on wing anatomy? I don't know, maybe that's just personal preference, but practice is good. Overall, I like it! Very great work, hopefully you're doing alright now. <3

Thank you so much, I really appreciate the feedback! I'll definitely keep working on my anatomy and try to improve on it more; after all, practice does make perfect. <3

Yep, it certainly does! I'm glad I didn't sound rude or anything aha.

Not at all! I went to a high school that focused the arts so I know the importance of critiques and I really appreciate it. I honestly wish that more people could provide and accept criticism it would help a lot of artists out, but some people can just be really sensitive nowadays. :/

Honestly speaking, I'm not very used to critique. I don't get it often but when I do I try to swallow my pride and just accept it(provided the person is nice). Once someone I argued with straight-up went to my profile to comment "Looks shit" on one of my art pieces on IG, which is obviously not "critique".

Though I'd prefer if people ask before they gave any critique. I guess I am a little sensitive when people critique my work though rip. I try not to get hurt though. :P

Sometimes critiques can hurt a little, I mean no one really likes to hear something bad about their art. But it's always good to have an outside perspective find some flaws to help improve in the future, granted the criticism be constructive. Deconstructive criticism is just plain unnecessary and in most cases immature, I'm sorry you had to go through that.

I usually point out the good stuff if I ever leave a comment and only do a more in depth critiqued if asked. I know that a lot of people ,especially online, can be sensitive or just react poorly to criticism and I also understand that some people just draw as a hobby and don't really care for the criticism.

Same for the most part, aha. I don't usually care for destructive critique, especially if the person can't even spell. I try not to be immature when people give criticism, but it's always best to ask before you give one. I do the same too, point out the positive aspects and only elaborate on the negative aspects upon request.

Yup! It's always good to be respectful to people and to try to deal with things rationally and maturely.

Oh and btw I wanted to let you know that I really like your art! You have a really nice and unique art style!

I agree with you on that! And thank you, I appreciate it! <3

Recently I haven't been feeling too good about my feral art when it comes to canines, but practice makes things better. :)
