I don't redraw the whole thing, I only do the things that change, like you said. This was gonna be my icon on deviantART, and they only allow under 15kb. I'm not sure about Weasyl though

Huh. When I took a look at the .gif here, it had a full image every frame. Maybe double-check that?

Oh wait, what do you mean a full image every frame? Like do you mean do the animation on layers?

So, IDK what program you use for these, but I work on .gifs in GIMP, which treats .gif frames as layers. And when I open this .gif, I see the whole bust in every layer, not just the eyes and mouth. If you made every frame except the first completely transparent except for the eyes and mouth and cropped the layer boundaries, that would cut down on file size.

Ohh ok. That's just how I make icons, but I'll see if I can try to do what you're suggesting ^^

Tip about .gif file sizes: when using "combine" frame disposal, you don't have to redraw the entire image in every frame, just the parts that change! Cut out everything but the face on all your frames except the first and your file size should go down a lot.
