Tess the Wolf by Ghostwolf

Tess the Wolf

Ghostwolf

Hello everyone, meet Tess the Wolf.

Tess is a new character of mine who was designed with a very specific purpose - To get better at doing digital art.

She's basically part of an experiment for me to try out new ideas and colouring techniques. For example, I wanted to try out a few different materials on her besides just her fur. So you can see suede boots, leather topped stockings, denim and so on.

This was a departure from my normal colouring technique as I was trying to improve speed without sacrificing quality. In total this shaved about 8 hours off of my normal time for a piece like this which would be around 12 - 18 hours.

I might come up with a back story for Tess in the future, but everytime you see her, she will most likely be wearing something different. :-)

Absolutely lovely looking character, and gotta appreciate the in-depth step by step on the previous submission. Really solid take on digital, only qualm is that her right ear and arm somehow look rather color wise compared to the rest of the fur. Overally real nice presentation, really great job.

Yeah, on her right (our left is a very slight gradient filter capturing the idea of evening sunset so it does add a tint to her fur.

I'll be doing another piece of Tess in the near future because I've learned a few new tricks and want to record them in a similar way.
