If you guessed I was inspired by sailor moon r for this you were so right.

I've always loved the concept of the Xenian flower/Kisenian blossom from the movie and from what I've seen sailor moon hasn't done anything else with them so I decided to borrow the concept while also making quite a few changes. Also since I haven't done anything with Milo in ages I decided to revamp him so he fits into this idea.

Amatus comes from galaxy Messier 81 and is part of a long line of royals, he also has no siblings so he is the sole heir to the throne. Like his parents he believes in conquering territories so that their people can expand beyond their homeworld and its limited resources. Though Amatus does not engage in war if he can help it, instead he chooses to terraform the targeted planet so that the new atmosphere will kill off the original residents quickly and better suit his people for when they eventually take over. However, residents of the galaxy do not know him as the prince, they only know him as a man called "Milo" who works under the royal army to avoid possible assassination attempts by rebels. (He also never shows his face outside of his own planet for this reason).

Amatus' people are diverse, all ranging in different types of flowers, colors, and skin tones. They are also carnivores, feeding off of the giant bugs that inhabit their planet by injecting them with the neurotoxic venom their stingers contain (the false filament). This is also used as a defense against possible enemies. Meanwhile their true filament are used as legs to allow them to move around independently. The kingdom itself is relatively peaceful, citizens are allowed to live their lives how they choose so long as they follow the law and do not cause/threaten harm to other citizens or the royal family.
