Galaxyqueen

A new species. After all these years of a dry spell of producing none…finally. He.

For days I have been wanting to create an alien species heavily inspired off of sugar gliders and I finally did it. Honestly I’m pretty proud of how they turned out, I think I was able to make them very alien while still making them look appropriate for a game like RaC. And no their feet don’t have claws or anything, those are just their normal feet.

This species is native to the Solana galaxy but many are often filled with wanderlust and go off to explore other planets as well as galaxies. However they tend to avoid extremely cold climates since their fur is not suited for those types of environments. While this species is capable of eating meat it’s very rare that they do. Because of their preference of living in the trees instead of the planet’s surface they have easier access to plant foods instead of living prey, as a result most of the species are vegetarians. They are very social, often welcoming of newcomers and strangers, they treat guests as one of the community. But when the stranger has proven to be a danger they are attacked and driven out. When a member of the species is threatened they will let out screeches that are loud enough to temporarily deafen a potential predator, then they will take that opportunity to retaliate. Though they are not aiming to kill, their real goal is to scare away the potential threat so that they don’t attempt another attack.

Their double ears allow them to pick up sounds in their environment more easily while gliding through the air. The larger ear picks up sounds that most other species would have no trouble detecting, but the smaller ear is more specialized toward picking up subtle sounds. Mostly sounds that potential predators would try their best to conceal while hunting them down. The membrane of their wings, while not in use, retract back into the skin to a certain extent. Allowing for easier, less restricted movement while climbing through the trees. Their tails are also curled over to avoid giving predators something to grab onto while they are gliding through an open space.

This particular boy is a new oc I’m coming up with, but there’ll be more on him later on his own reference sheet.
