Pangaroo species redesign concepts

Pangaroos are a closed species, you may not make your own.

HEY so this is a species I've had around for forever, some of you may recognize them! Here's an old guide in case you're curious. I've been trying on and off to revamp these guys but hadn't been able to find a result I was satisfied with, but this time I'm really feeling it!

I've decided that their species will be native to the same headworld as potion sippers (Example, has links to species info) they are essentially that world's version of cats!
Some info:

  • Domesticated! There may be non-domesticated ones (will decide later) They come in different breeds (to be developed later).
  • Their long fur absorbs and stores surrounding magic, which they use to summon the aethereal claws to help them climb or defend themselves. That, along with the ability to sanic into a mega-protective ball, are the only forms of magic that they can actually preform, which doesn't even come close to using up the magic stored in their fur. They are extremely popular pets for magic-users of all kinds, acting as a second source of magic if their owner's own runs dry.
  • The color of their eyes and insides match the color of their magic. Eyes always follow a pattern, darkest color for the sclera, medium color for the limbal ring, lightest color for the inner iris. The mouth also follows a pattern and matches the colors of the eyes, inner check is the darkest color, tongue is the medium color, teeth are the lightest color.
  • They are very social creatures that require a lot of attention and affection, they can die of loneliness. Owners usually either have at least 2, let theirs run free in the streets to meet others (if they're trustworthy enough), or are kept on their person at all times in pockets or on their shoulders, even during battle (which considering their usefulness as a second magic source, isn't such a bad idea)
  • Communicate through a series of clicks, chirps, and snorts (when surprised or irritated)
  • They feed on nuts, certain insects, and succulent magic fruit.
  • They are natural climbers as well as diggers, and can be quite a handful if not trained well and/or not given an area to satisfy their climbing and digging desires. Their tail is prehensile, which aids them in climbing. Front feet are pawed with 4 toes, back feet are hoofed.
