art diary:

i never thought it would take 2 months long to make, well i didnt really work 2 months since i only did for a few days, it only took that long because of two things; 1) because im soooo busy; 2) because im lazy XD

i messed up on a few details here:

1) the spikes on chelsea's elbows and back of the rear feet should be glowing like the spike on her head and tail, proved to be too much of a mistake to be fixed via photoshop and yeah, got lazy

2) rey's back spikes, look at the black-white patterns. the first one on the head is black-white (which is correct) then the second one should be white-black (failed)

art study:

this was entitled "styles collide" because i used two different styles of painting on the two charas.

1) chelsea- i used my old style where i begin by painting a base coat of 100% opacity then i could either paint dark and light colors on it or just use dodge and burn tools, used alot of smudge tool on it. both parts made it more time consuming

2) rey- i tried a new technique here which i would call "water color style" unlike the first, i never painted any base coats, i just start at the mid color and with my brush at 50-75% opacity i just start painting, like watercolors i add layer upon layer to make the paint more vibrant and visible, then i go to 10-20% opacity to add in much more stronger shades and highlights. if done correctly, no need to use dodge and burn and smudge, which saved me alot of time.
