Panel One

It is the Sabbath. Barrett, Friar's anthro lion father, recites a blessing over candles, covering his eyes. Friar, wearing a kippah, watches.

"Blessed are you, Lrd our Gd who has commanded us to light the candles of the Shabbat. Amein."

Panel Two

Barrett extinguishes the candles, preparing to go out for dinner. His cell phone buzzes.

"I hope this isn't any shock, kitten, but I could go for some pizza."

"Why is this night any different?"

Panel Three

Barrett checks the notifications on his phone. Two notifications about gun violence. Friar looks up at the camera with concern.

"Daddy? What's wrong?"

Panel Four

Barrett holds Friar closely, crying.

"It's not, Ari. It's not different at all."
