I read The Girl in a Swing by Richard Adams a while back, and I still have no idea how I feel about it. It was completely boring and annoying for the first 200 pages, and then all of a sudden the ending was genuinely good and terrifying. It was worth reading just for that alone.
Since most of Richard Adams’s books were about animals, I decided to draw Käthe (called Karin in later editions) as a cat, using Meg Tilly’s portrayal of her as a base. I’m really happy with her hair, and I think she came out very pretty.
